About

Having trained in Fine art at central St Martins School of Art and Design as an installation artist I then moved on to exploring a technique for drawing whilst scuba diving on the south coast of England. A series of dry point etchings were made underwater onto lead and the printed images painted in watercolour.

The use of lead for etching had inspired me to develop other images including this collection of birds. The drawings on the lead plates are printed using a converted Victorian mangle with steel rollers and the birds are then individually hand coloured in watercolour. Each plate has been printed only five times and then framed as an art work in it's own right.

All the frames have been hand crafted by Mickey Sadler to add uniqueness to the finished product.
